Hi fur friends! Sadly we are getting ready to leave Japan, but we are trying to squeeze in a few more ventures.

Tsuoshima Island is part of the Kitanagata Coast Quasi-National Park. Island access it provided by the second longest bridge in Japan. Be sure to check out the observatory, wave sculpture, and turquoise waters before getting on the bridge.

Once on the island you will find Cobalt Blue Beach across from a no-sato (rest area) with specialty food, souvenirs, and drinks. The island includes a lighthouse park with a cute ice cream shop, a nature museum, and a campground (summer only).
We had an amazing lunch at the GranVista patio (dog-friendly). It was very windy when we were there, despite the protected patio. The staff brought us blankets and warm tea. Highly recommend!
If you are interested in a multi-day trip, nearby dog-friendly attractions are Motonosumi Inari Shrine, Senjojiki (great views and camping site), and Omi Island (camping site and hike). We highly recommend exploring western Yamaguchi. Happy trails with tails!
