Needless to say we LOVE the beach!!!
It is our favorite place to go for a stroll, unwind, get our toes wet and forget about the day (for me at least, I am sure Luna does not need to forget about the day lol)
Anyway, Glass Beach is the closest dog-friendly beach in Iwakuni. Only about 20 min from base, off 188 south, with nice views and an ever-changing experience depending on the tides.
At low tide, you can explore tidal pool and watch the wading birds forage for fish. At high tide, you get to walk on the paved path and on the seawall and explore a relatively smaller stretch of sand. It is a beautiful place in any weather!
Unfortunately, pups need to be kept on-leash as many locals walk their dogs here. Nevertheless, we always have a great time! This beach also has a couple of playgrounds, a small 'trail' and amazing ocean views! I am sure your dog will love it!
