Futashika Umezu Falls (Three Falls)

Writer's picture: The travelling dogThe travelling dog

Thee Falls is a short hike in Iwakuni about a 45 min drive from base and it is the least strenuous hike we have been to. Goggle maps will get you there via route 130.

This sign is at the parking lot when you get there. Then it is a short walk to the trailhead.

We went there on a warm December (2018) day and had a pleasant stroll. There are both stone and metal stairs and the hike parallels a stream with small waterfalls. On a warm day, one could go swimming in the pool formations along the hike. Also, there is a gazebo at the parking lot where you can enjoy a picnic with your family!

We are looking forward to a hot summer day at Three falls and will update this post one we revisit it. I'm sure the dogs will love to dip into the water here!

Happy travels!
